Spinach chapati

A sneaky way to get some spinach to your little monsters. Also spinach brings a beautiful green colour to chapatis. Chapatis are Indian flat bread made with wheat flour. Its a super easy recipe. We are just adding spinach paste into ordinary chapati mixture. Instead of spinach you can also use cooked beetroot puree, carrot puree etc.

Preparation time - 10 mins
No of chapati- 2 nos
Ingredients

Wheat flour- 1/2 cup
Baby spinach- a handful
Salt to taste
Water- 1/4 cup or as required
Butter/ ghee- 1 tsp

Grind baby spinach into a coarse paste. You can also use finely chopped spinach.

Take flour, salt, spinach paste in a mixing bowl and slowly start needing the dough by adding small amount of water. Chapati dough are supposed to be soft and smooth.

Divide the dough into small lemon sized ball and flat it using a rolling pin.

Heat your tawa and put the chapati. Flip chapati occasionally until both sides are cooked. Add some ghee or butter for extra taste.

PS:-
  • I used a standard 240 ml measuring cup.
  • You can also add chilly to make it spicy.
  • You can avoid the use of butter/ghee.
