Chicken Kebab

Chicken Kebab is, chicken cubes marinated in yogurt cooked in a tandoori oven or electric oven. I am trying a deep fried chicken starter with the same ingredients. Fry these chicken pieces, only few minutes before serving. It has a crispy outer coating and a soft inside. It can be served as a starter.
Preparation time- 20 mins

Ingredients

Chicken- 500 gm boneless
Red Chilly powder- 2 tbsp
All purpose flour/ Maida- 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Red Chilly paste- 1 tbsp
Curd/ Yogurt- 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic paste- 1 heaped tbsp
Onion*- 1 sliced
Lemon wedges*
Oil for Frying
Salt to taste

Method
Cut the chicken into cubes. I used ordinary red chilly powder. Grind ginger and garlic into a coarse paste. I prepared red chilly paste as mentioned below.
Make a thick batter with curd, flour, salt, red chilly powder, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste. Add chicken into this and mix it in the batter. Keep in refrigerator for 20 mins.
Heat oil in a pan. Add chicken pieces one by one.
Keep the flame medium. Turn the chicken pieces occasionally until both the sides are golden brown in color.
Serve hot chicken kebab always with Onion slices and lemon wedges.

PS:-

  • I used a standard 240 ml measuring cup.
  • * shows optional ingredients.
  • You can also keep the chicken pieces in a tandoori oven to make an oil free kebab.
