Basic Veg Pizza

This is a simple and easy Pizza recipe. I have used all-purpose-flour instead of bread flour as I like a little less crispy base. This recipe will be enough for two 10-inch pizzas. Have a happy pizza time....

Preparation time-40 mins

Ingredients

All purpose flour- 3 1/2 cup
Warm water- 1 cup or as required
Yeast- 2 1/2 tsp
Salt- 2 tsp
Sugar- 1 tsp
Olive oil-  4 tbsp
Tomato sauce- 4 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste*- 1 tsp
Capsicum*- 1 sliced
Tomato- 1 sliced
Onion- 1 small chopped or sliced
Mozzarella cheese- 2 Cups grated

Method
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. I used instant yeast so didn't had to wait much, else wait till forms appear to ensure yeast is good.
Take flour, salt,  2 tbsp olive oil and yeast mixture  in a mixing bowl and kneed it into a smooth and elastic dough.
Once the dough is ready, coat it lightly with rest of the olive oil. You can refrigerate the dough at this stage for around 10 days in an air tight container.
Keep aside dough for an hour or two or as long as needed to get the dough double in size.
I had to wait for 2 hours to get the dough ready. Then move it to a flat surface and divide into 2 portions. Lets work with 1 portion.
Flatten the dough gently with your finger tips. Apply flour or oil if necessary. Move it to a pizza stone or a flat oven tray.
Make edges to the dough, to keep toppings properly.  Apply olive of on top of this to avoid a soggy pizza after a heavy topping.
Mix ginger garlic paste and tomato sauce.
Apply the mix evenly on the base.
Now you can do the topping as you desire. Either cheese first then veggies or vice verse. I added chopped onions, tomato and capsicum slices.
Top it with 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Preheat oven at 450 degree F for atleast 45 mins. Keep the pizza in lower rack.
It may take 10 to 15 mins. When the sides are brown and cheese at the center melts, your pizza is ready to be served.
Happy Pizza time :D

 PS:-
  • I used a standard 250 ml measuring cup.
  • Exact oven time depends upon your oven.
  • Use bread flour instead of maida to get a crispier crust.

  • The time required for the dough to double its size depends upon the room temperature and the yeast used.
  • Keep pizza on a lower third rack of your oven.
